PHYSIOLOGY
APPEARANCE
While her legs are long in proportion to her body, Apple is a smaller feline. Her frame is delicate with small, dainty paws that lend their gifts to stealth and stalking. Her head is angular, featuring a small nose and short, triangular ears.
Akin to her mother, Apple's pelt is short and smooth, colored black with ginger peppering it randomly. In certain places stripes can be seen. Her muzzle is noticeable void of any markings, making it appear darkest of all. Round in shape, her eyes are golden yellow with hints of green.

- Apple is unaware that she had a brother. Her father never spoke of Sloe after his death, and rarely mentioned Mink.
- As a kit Apple used to believe she could lick the stripes off of a tabby if she tried hard enough. She still exhibits this behavior from time to time, despite knowing otherwise.
- Despite her unending curiosity toward all matters, talking about spirits it the quickest way to douse her flames. Though genuinely intrigued by the topic, Apple is much too fearful to seek out any information.
- After the death of his mate, Ibis remained distant from his daughter. The two hardly spent time together while she was young and to this day he still avoids her. Even so, Apple could still describe her relationship with Ibis as a good one. His lack of attention was all she ever knew.
- She has the tendency to become low-key obsessed with certain physical features of other cats. Whether it be a short tail, eye-catching colors, nice legs, fun markings, etc. This is, more often than not, how her crushes get started.
- She decided on a name for her spirit guide by making random noises until something stuck.
HISTORY
•PRE-ROLEPLAY•
Kithood
Early into winter, one of Eternal Light's mothers went into early labor shocking the shamans into a quiet panic. Though Mink was a healthy she-cat by all means, hours of contractions and pains had considerably weakened her- but she came out alive, as did her son and daughter. Both kits looked like tiny copies of their respective parents, Apple being named after her mother, and Sloe after his father.
The new family got to enjoy only a few short days with each other before Sloe fell ill; Mink was soon to follow. To keep the remaining kit healthy, Apple was given to another queen to nurse from while her family recovered. Unfortunately, within a week both Mink and Sloe passed away.
Apprenticeship
For the most part Apple's training went along uneventfully; she was (and still is) a naturally curious feline so teaching her was quite an easy feat. Her mind did have a tendency to wander, however, so the young she-cat often went off on tangents during lessons. There was only one topic Apple seemed to stray away from: spirits. Dangerous accounts and spooky tales had all but traumatized her as a kit and for the longest time she would actively avoid learning more about them.
The longer her avoidance went on the more rude such a dismissal became. Her first offence was punished by a chore, the second time double the amount of chores; the third time she was given a lecture and warned that if she continued she would be forced to personally apologize to the spirits for her behavior. Whether this teacher meant it or not the threat succeeded in persuading the young tortoiseshell to at least tune in to those lessons from there on out.
Apple excelled mostly in the hunting and tracking portions of her apprenticeship. Her small size and mostly black pelt made her adept at stalking, able to slip from shadow to shadow virtually undetectable. But when it came to combat... well that was much harder for the she-cat to grasp. Without the size and strength to properly defend herself against a larger opponent, Apple had to rely on speed and agility to keep herself carefully out of range. This gave her more of a chance in battle, though winning will probably always be a stretch.
Once able to survive on her own, Apple was sent out into the territory to seek out her guide. Though initially worried about encountering a spirit, her father (almost begrudgingly) assured her that no harm would come to her during this time. Of course, that was a huge-ass lie, but being the gullible feline she was, Apple believed it.
She returned in less than a day, a wide smile spread across her face. She proudly proclaimed her spirit guide to be a large, dark colored beetle that refused to detach itself from her pelt. Though such a creature was an unusual form for a spirit to take, Apple was convinced otherwise- until her father forced her to go back out.
Glumly the she-cat obeyed (taking the beetle along for moral support, of course) and trudged through her Tribe's territory. Two days would pass without a single sign, prey was starting to become harder to find, and, worst of all, her beetle friend had left her. Close to tears (yes she may have cried over her lost beetle) Apple settled down between a pair of tree roots for the night. Time and time again the young she-cat would be awoken by the sounds of nearby skittering.
She ignored it the first time, figuring a mouse might've been nearby. The second time put her on edge as the noise grew closer. Was it an angry spirit? A predator? Third time around Apple got up and quietly made her escape- or at least attempted to. After taking no more than a few pawsteps she looked down to find a small mouse sitting in her path; it stared up at her with big, round eyes showing not even a trace of fear.
When she bent her head to inspect the brave creature it greeted her affectionately with a lick on the nose. It seemed just as happy to see her as she did it. Overjoyed, Apple returned to her Tribe the next day, bringing news of her newly found guide.
At the end of her training, Apple was given the full name Patch Where Apple Trees Fall, likely in reference to the ginger markings that peppered her ebony pelt.

•ROLEPLAYING BEGINS•
RELATIONS
FRIENDS: To those she call friends, Apple presents herself as a childish and silly companion. From harmless pranks, horrible jokes, or random acts she'll do just about anything to earn a laugh or smile from her friends, always being there to help cheer them up. Being so light-hearted and carefree most of the time Apple doesn't do well with more serious matters and will actively avoid them if possible. The most she'll offer is a shoulder to cry on and an ear to vent. Cats who seek to befriend her will have to put up with her endless curiosities and whatever adventures and antics she'll get into to find answers. She'll find fascination with even the most mundane of objects or ideas often leaving her to space out in thought in the middle of a conversation. Patience is a virtue with her. |
No Friends
LOVERS: Apple is someone who finds herself easily and frequently crushing on others- it's not her fault she's a hopeless romantic! Despite her pansexual leanings, she's quite picky about who she gets serious with. From a young age her father put it into her head that she would know who her true love was when it just felt right being with them- unfortunately Apple took his advice a little too literally. If something ever feels wrong about being with another cat, whether she has trouble staying interested, doesn't feel like she can be open with them, etc, Apple has no problem nixing the whole relationship. If it's not gonna last forever then why bother? Thus, most relationship are more like flings in nature, given how short they are likely to be. She currently has no prior experience in a serious relationship, so it's unknown how she will act. |
Hush that Falls on Misty Mornings (Ex-partner) - "I.. I thought.. You were the one for me, y'know? Was it not the same for you?"
ENEMIES: Being as friendly and loving as she is, making enemies is a tough feat for her to accomplish. One could be the biggest piece of trash imaginable and yet she'll still find something to appreciate them for. She is incredibly forgiving and would offer anyone a second chance no matter what they'd done in the past- even if this leaves her incredibly vulnerable. There is, however, a point at which her kindness runs out, but even then she'd wouldn't call the other cat her enemy. For those out there truly seeking hatred from every creature, you'd have to do something unspeakably horrible to earn this title. |
